Donna L. Moore, Life Transition Coach

Donna L. Moore

Maybe that should be Donna “Perseverance” Moore. One thing is for sure – when she puts her mind to something, she doesn’t give up! While in graduate school working toward her Masters in Social Work at Eastern Carolina University, she commuted two hours three days a week while assisting her aging parents and working full-time.

After receiving her Bachelor of Science degree in Special Education from Old Dominion University, she moved to the United States Virgin Islands. Donna worked in the mental health system in the Virgin Islands with children and adults with disabilities. She enjoyed the ocean; swimming a mile every day and watching the whales migrate each winter from South America.

About 20 years later, Donna decided to pursue her dream of getting her Masters in Social Work. After receiving her degree from ECU she obtained her license as a clinical social worker. She became a businesswoman, opening her own psychotherapy practice. See www.donnamooretherapy.com for more information. Additionally, she is consulting with Rosen Law Firm as a Life Transition Coach. (Fearless once again, right?) She has also served for eight years on a human rights committee for developmentally disabled adults.

Maybe Donna’s work ethic has something to do with her being a Navy brat. Her family moved every eighteen months while she was growing up, and she certainly had to learn how to adapt and make new friends fast! This experience also gave her a love of travel and learning about other cultures. (Now we don’t know where her love of swing dancing or golf come from, but it certainly makes for a well-balance individual, doesn’t it?) Certainly, her experience of moving from school to school and making friends rapidly has helped Donna in her work as a consulting Life Transition Coach. She can connect with her clients very quickly, empathizing with what they’re going through, and helping them to resolve problems as effectively as possible.
