Michael E. Hall, Life Transition Coach

Michael E. Hall

Michael may be known for his "elephant ears", but that doesn't mean he needs plastic surgery. It simply means he's one of the best listeners you'll ever encounter. This, of course, makes him an ideal Life Transition Coach. It also doesn't hurt that he holds a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Penn State, a M.Ed. in School Psychology from Bowling Green State University, and a B.A. in Psychology from Ohio Wesleyan University.

If those aren't enough credentials for you, how about the fact that Michael is a North Carolina Licensed Professional Counselor and a Career Management Fellow, which is the Institute of Career Certification International's highest designation?

Michael isn't afraid to talk in front of large groups of people either. He's in-demand on the conference speaker circuit. In fact, such prestigious organizations as the Center for Creative Leadership in Greensboro, the National Career Development Association, Kiwanis and Chamber of Commerce-Black Professional Network of Charlotte, and Penn State University staff benefited in recent years from his stellar presentations on relationships and career-related topics. Michael is even a Professional Affiliate member of the UNC-Charlotte Graduate Faculty, where he teaches group leadership, as well as career and lifestyle development. Also, he serves as a career counselor and executive to hundreds of individuals at Fortune 500 companies like IBM, Dow Chemical, and John Deere.

Michael is active in the community through the Mecklenburg County Bar Association's Lawyer Support and Grievance committees, as a public member. As well, at his church, he recently served as married-couples leader, and family life co-director. His promotion of healthy relationship extends to Christian Athletes United for Spiritual Empowerment (C.A.U.S.E.), a national organization of professional athletes and spouses, where he is the marital therapist of counsel.

As if you could be any more impressed, Michael has published in several scholarly and popular publications, and is a member of more professional organizations than we can even mention, such as the Sloan Work and Family Research Network, American Association of Christian Counselors, and the American Counseling Association.

With the Charlotte chapter of Operation ReachBack 2004 ORBY Award, for his unique career and family service initiatives, you can be sure that Michael offers the kind of life transition coaching that comes from nearly three decades of experience. Yes, we said three decades! Michael is indeed older than he looks. He thanks his parents for great genes, but he also gives his wife, Barbara, kudos for perfecting the art of vegetarian cooking and healthy fruit drinks. After you've finished your coaching session with Michael, ask he'll stop listening long enough to share some tips about the "longevity lifestyle." Don't we all want to look that young in our 50's?
