Sherry Anton, Administrative Assistant

santonSherry is a firm believer in better late than never, and Rosen is reaping the benefits of her philosophy. She began her studies at Louisiana State University, but when she transferred to the University of Florida, she fell in love and all bets were off. So, she got married and began her family during her senior year before finishing her degree. At 52, she has finally earned her Associates degree in Paralegal studies and is using it at Rosen for the first time as the firm’s new Administrative Assistant. Not only that, but she left the younger students in the dust when the faculty voted her Outstanding Paralegal Student.

Her position at Rosen isn’t her first time working for a law firm, however. Sherry has worked primarily in law and in universities. She grew up in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Gainesville, Florida in an academic family. Her father had a Ph.D. in Education Administration and worked in universities, too.

In her free time, Sherry likes to garden, cook, and read. You might catch her reading a book sometime while her sons rock climb. She’s no fragile southern belle, though. If you want to engage her in a conversation, you could talk sports. She’s a huge LSU Tigers and Florida Gators fan. She’s not afraid to get her hands dirty either as she frequently helps her youngest son work on cars that he restores. Meanwhile, her husband has restored a 1986 Jeep CJ7 that Sherry happily drives with the top down. If you see her riding about town, be sure to wave.

The Iraq war has been very personal for Sherry and her family. Her 22-year-old has been in the U.S. Marine Corps for four years and finished two tours in Iraq. He was released on July 24, 2009, and the whole family is ecstatic to have him back home.
