Anna Ayscue is a Raleigh family law attorney with Rosen Law Firm who represents clients in divorce, property division, alimony and child custody matters throughout the Triangle. Education and Background
Anna is a Raleigh native and graduate of Southeast Raleigh High School.
She earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Management, with a concentration in Finance and a minor in Spanish, from North Carolina State University. She graduated summa cum laude as a University Scholar.
Anna earned her Juris Doctor from Charlotte School of Law. During law school, she served as president of the Elder Law Society and completed an externship with the Union County District Attorney’s Office. She passed the North Carolina bar examination on her first attempt.
Divorce Involving Business Owners
When one or both spouses own a business, divorce can raise complicated questions about whether the business is marital or separate property, how it should be valued, how income should be determined, and whether one spouse can retain the business while fairly compensating the other.
Anna works with clients and financial professionals to address these issues and develop practical solutions whenever possible. Her experience includes matters involving closely held businesses, professional practices, partnerships and LLC interests.
Anna has also presented continuing legal education programs to attorneys on issues involving the division of business interests at divorce. She is the author of a forthcoming book addressing divorce for business owners in North Carolina.
Settlement, Mediation and Litigation Experience
Anna is a strong advocate for resolving family law disputes efficiently and strategically when an agreement can be reached. She is experienced in negotiation and mediation and works with clients to identify practical solutions that protect what matters most to them without creating unnecessary conflict or expense.
However, not every case can (or should) be resolved through settlement. Anna also has extensive litigation experience and has represented clients in contested family law matters in Wake, Durham and Orange Counties. Her courtroom experience allows her to evaluate a case with both settlement and litigation in mind. She puts an emphasis on what can reasonably be achieved through negotiation, where compromise makes sense, and when a client’s interests require taking an issue before a judge.
Anna serves on the Wake County Family Court Local Rules Committee, which advises the court regarding changes to local family court rules and participates in drafting those rules.
Her litigation background extends beyond family law. Before joining Rosen Law Firm, Anna practiced both family law and criminal defense, representing clients in matters ranging from traffic offenses to felony cases. She also represented minors in juvenile delinquency court and parents involved in abuse, neglect, dependency and child support contempt proceedings.
Anna’s work with children has been an important part of her legal career. She has served as a guardian ad litem and attorney advocate for children in an abuse and neglect case and completed The Child’s Advocate Program, specialized training for attorneys appointed to represent children in high-conflict custody cases.
That combination of negotiation, mediation and courtroom experience gives Anna a practical perspective on family law disputes and the ability to adapt her approach to the needs of each client and case.
