Anna’s legal career has been diverse. Prior to joining Rosen, she practiced criminal defense, as well as family law – everything from speeding tickets to felonies. She represented minors in juvenile delinquency court and parents in abuse/neglect/dependency/child support contempt cases. For a while, she handled every contempt case in the county when the parent asked for a court-appointed attorney. One of her child support contempt clients was so impressed with her representation that he sent her a thank you note along with a dollar bill to “buy a Coke.”
A local native, Anna graduated from Southeast Raleigh High School. Before law school, Anna earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management with Finance Concentration and a minor in Spanish from North Carolina State University, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude as a University Scholar.
Maybe most impressive is that Anna passed the bar exam on her first attempt! She was the President of the Elder Law Society her third year of law school, and during her last year, she had an externship with the Union County DA’s office, where she assisted in a felony embezzlement jury trial that led to a conviction.
When she’s not fighting hard in the court room, Anna loves to travel. She and her husband frequently visit North Carolina beaches, South Florida, the Caribbean, and Las Vegas. She also loves to hang out by the pool during summer and run half-marathons.
Anna’s community involvement includes serving on a panel of speakers for a Q&A session for potential foster parents, and she has participated in mock trials for middle school students. One year, a picture of her testifying as a mock witness made it on the front page of the local newspaper. Anna also once served as a guardian ad litem and the attorney advocate for a family of four children who were involved in an alleged abuse and neglect case. She even attended the children’s therapy appointments and discussed their hopes and fears with them.
She brings this same caring to her role as a divorce lawyer, where her patience, listening skills, and honesty are appreciated by our clients.
